Jacob Holsinger Sherman is Associate Professor and Chair of Philosophy and Religion at the California Institute of Integral Studies, a private graduate institute in San Francisco. He taught previously at the University of Cambridge and King's College London. In addition to numerous articles and reviews, he is the co-editor of The Participatory Turn: Spirituality, Mysticism, and Religious Studies (2008). Partakers of the Divine (Fortress, 2014) is a revision of a dissertation completed at the University of Cambridge under the supervision of Douglas Hedley and Catherine Pickstock.
Partakers of the Divine shows that Christian philosophical and contemplative practices arose together and that throughout much of Christian history, philosophy, theology, and contemplation remained internal to one another.
