Othmar Keel

Othmar Keel is professor emeritus of Old Testament and the biblical world on the Catholic theological faculty of the University of Fribourg. He is author of the two-volume Die Geschichte Jerusalems und die Entstehung des Monotheismus (2007), on which this volume is based, as well as Gods, Goddesses, and Images of God (Fortress Press, 1998). He was granted the title of honorary doctor by the universities of Bochum (Germany), Geneva (Switzerland), and Lund (Sweden).
